Vanessa Floyd - Santa Cruz & Half Moon Bay, CA; Oahu, HI
Founder & owner of Jetty Betty Surf School. I live and give private lessons in Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay most
of the year.I've been surfing all over the world for the last 10 years and traveled to Indonesia, Australia, Costa Rica, Tahiti,
Mexico and can be found in Hawaii at least 2-3 times a year. When I'm not intructing, I'm focused on big wave training and have some
big plans for this upcoming season.

Being a surf instructor is one of the most fulfilling services I engage in
and the rewards of sharing the experience are priceless. After the past five
years of battling the cold currents of Santa Cruz I retreated to the warm
waters of southern california. Working with Richard Schmidt's surf school up
north is where I received most of my formal training as an instructor for
week long surf camps and day lessons at cowell's. I prefer teaching private
lessons because of the emphasis of one on one interaction between student
and instructor and progression of lesson difficulty depending on the skill
level and abilities of the student as they become more advanced. The surf
lifetstyle goes beyond the water and transcends into everything I do,
whether it's art, traveling, or other board sports. Surfing has become my
life and I love sharing my passion for the sport with others! Hope to see
